Our client, Luton is seeking a Team Manger to join their Looked After Children team

What the role entails:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the team providing a social work service of assessment, care planning, data analysis, strategic planning and child protection within the scope of the Children Act 1989 and related legislation.
  • Provide specialist intervention services throughout Luton in line with statutory provision of social work service. Make high-risk decisions concerning the safeguarding of children to establish the appropriate assessment required and level of need for support/services for children and young people.
  • Accountable for the management of performance for the team through auditing case files, quality assuring reports written by Social Workers, tracking progress through managerial reports and processing complaints within timescales.
  • Hold regular Check-In’s and Supervisions to identify strengths of staff and also to consider areas where there are areas for improvement within practice, arranging bespoke support or following improvement procedures where required.
  • Contribute to the high standards within the appropriate service area by attending Team Managers Meetings, Service Briefings, problem solving etc. Will ensure effective standards across the service by leading practitioners to be compliant with legislation whilst providing an effective service.

Requirements of the role:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • SW England registered
  • Must have completed ASYE
