Service Manager, Leaving Care – Wandsworth – Up to £72,211 plus benefits

About the role

This new exciting position has arisen to support, develop and champion the needs of care leaving young people.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the management and running of the Leaving Care Service, working with key partners and stakeholders to support the work of Children’s Services.

The main role of the Service Manager will be to offer guidance to Team Managers, enabling them to support their staff and develop the service in line with statutory requirements and the key priorities of Children’s Services.

About you

Bringing expertise in the field of safeguarding, managing change, supervision of staff and relevant legislation/statutory guidance you will ensure we deliver a high quality and effective service for Care Leavers in Wandsworth.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • A social worker degree and registered with Social Work England (formerly HCPC)
  • Experience of working with partnerships to improve service delivery
  • An ability to manage budgets
  • A proven track record of leading and motivating staff
  • Management experience working in a Children’s Social Care setting
  • A good understanding of the legislative framework ,statutory guidance and initiatives applicable to care leavers
  • Experience of formulating strategies, policies, objectives and targets
