This special school is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.

We are currently looking for a Headteacher in Pilning, South Gloucestershire for a Ofsted rated “Good” special school that provides flexible specialist education for children and young people aged 7-19 with a range of diagnoses such as ASC, communication and associated needs. 

The role:
As the new Headteacher you will ultimately be accountable for all areas of operational and educational performance within the School, as well as the financial performance and overall management of staff team.

You will be expected to provide vision, leadership and direction for our school.  Delivering the highest professional standard whist maintaining its success and providing a high quality of education which reflects vision and values.

We always want to improve; so it will be no surprise that you’ll play be a key role in shaping our provision; driving our curriculum development and moving the school to ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.

Experience:
Successful candidate are likely to demonstrate the following:

• Qualified Teacher Status with further professional qualification in a relevant area.  Candidates with Head Teacher qualification (such as NPQH) or a willingness to gain such a qualification preferred.
• Proven track record and experience of working as part of a senior leadership team within an SEN school environment.
• A clear understanding of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation in relation to independent schools.
• Quality assurance experience (such as lesson observations and performance management)
• Team management experience.
• Experience of financial planning and control
• Superb communication and stakeholder management skills
