Social Personnel are looking for a Occupational Therapist to join the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service in Ely.

 

Fen House, part of the Disabilities Trust, is a residential rehabilitation unit that provides a holistic, client-centred approach to therapy for individuals with acquired brain injury. Using an interdisciplinary approach, we focus on individual goals to support adjustment to injury and development of specific skills to promote functional independence and support an individual’s transition back into the community.

 

Duties:

  • In this role you will be working as part of a skilled MDT providing Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment for individuals with complex physical, cognitive and emotional needs.
  • Using your clinical knowledge and skills, you will engage service users in therapeutic assessment and rehabilitation using an evidence based, client centred approach to enable them to worker towards achieving their personal goals and preparing them for returning to live safely in the community with an appropriate level of support.
  • You will be required to work as an autonomous therapist using your clinical knowledge, skills and sound reasoning in this specialist area to manage a complex caseload and support those who are adjusting to a life changing injury.
  • This role offers the opportunity to develop their clinical, managerial and leadership skills within friendly and supportive team. Within you also supporting and supervising colleagues and contribute to training and education for our service users, their family and Fen House staff.

 

What you need:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Three years post registration clinical experience (including 1 year in neurological rehabilitation)
  • Understanding of functional assessments and treatment approaches in this specialist area
  • Evidence of continuing professional development within the specialist field of neuro-rehabilitation.
