Interim Operations Manager – Berkshire 

Job Title:                      Interim Operations Manager

Accountable to:            Head of Adult Services

Responsible For:           Registered Managers

Salary:                          £42k – £45k circa

Location:                      Berkshire

Hours:                          35 hours per week

 

Contract:                      Fixed term (12-18 months)

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. To provide leadership and direction to Managers of care and support services for adults with learning disabilities, setting agreed performance targets for each manager to ensure that services are provided to the highest standard and are consistent with the principles and values of personalisation, independence, and social inclusion.

 

  1. Within the framework for this companies policies and procedures are to be responsible for the day to day operational management of the services in Berkshire.  Ensuring that accommodation Managers and other staff are equipped with appropriate resources, advice and knowledge to enable the services to meet and exceed the requirements of the Care Standards Act 2000/Health, Social Care Act 2008 and other regulatory bodies.

 

  1. To be responsible for the sound financial management of the services ensuring that budgets are set and reviewed and that all costs are managed within the agreed budgetary framework.

 

  1. To support and supervise staff in accordance with regulatory requirements, operating at all times within performance management and disciplinary policies and procedures.

 

  1. In collaboration with the Adult Services Manager and the Head of Adult Services develop agreed performance targets for services and systems for monitoring and reporting on them, ensuring that these are met or exceeded and are reviewed at regular intervals.

 

  1. To maintain effective records and to provide reports to management as required.

 

  1. Within the framework of Health and Safety Legislation, Safeguarding Procedures and general good practice assess and manage all risks associated with the service and ensure that these are recorded, regularly reviewed and reported as required.

 

  1. Participation in the senior management out-of-hours arrangements in support of the 24-hour nature of service delivery.

 

  1. To participate in focus work groups to review and improve processes, policies and procedures.

 

  1. To ensure effective communication with support departments and work in collaboration with support teams including ER, Training, H+S, Quality and Property.

 

 

 

General

 

  1. To maintain standard of dress that is appropriate to role and in accordance with the organisation’s dress policy.

 

  1. To maintain confidentiality at all times and to ensure respect for, proper observance of and adherence to their confidentiality policy for all staff.

 

  1. To attend regular supervision sessions with line manager, regular team meetings and undertake relevant training as and when required.

 

  1. To take all reasonable care of the health and safety of her/himself and of other persons who may be affected by her/his acts or omissions.  As regards to any duty or requirement imposed upon the organisation by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with the organisation as far as it necessary to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied with.  To report to the Health and Safety Manager either serious risks or your concerns over safety issues.

 

  1. To work collaboratively with volunteers to ensure that their contribution enhances quality of service provision and support across the organisation.

 

  1. To work at any other location, as and when required.

 

  1. To undertake any other duties which are consistent with the post.
