Your new role

Southend are looking to recruit a full time permanent qualified social worker working as part of a new initiative to provide social work presence in the wider community to provide integrated working with other Multi-disciplinary agencies in Southend, working towards the aim of prevention and for the residents of Southend Living well. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Social Worker to work in Southend-on-Sea.

We are undergoing a large transformation programme across adult social care to develop person-centred pathways and practice which is enabling, supportive and developing communities to become more resilient. This post is crucial to the delivery of person-centred care assessments and supporting young people/ adults to remain as independent as possible. Working alongside health colleagues, supporting interdependence with the community, you will support adults and carer’s as a ‘change agent’ to build on their strengths and assets

What you’ll need to succeed

It is essential that you have a qualification in Social Work (Diploma/Bachelor/Master’s degree) and registration with Social Work England.

You will ideally have experience in working within a local authority setting and be able to demonstrate your commitment to effective team working. As an experienced social worker you will have: – excellent communication skills; be proficient with using various computer systems and programmes; a good manager of time and be able to work under pressure working experience of knowledge of working with adults and older people; experience of safeguarding; and experience of undertaking Mental Capacity Act assessments.
