Boat Party 2022 – The Highlights

On Friday 22nd July, we finally welcomed our healthcare and social work staff onto the first Boat party since 2019, (Thanks, Covid!) but it was well worth the wait.

Our annual boat party usually takes place every year and is a chance for us to say thank you to all the social work and healthcare staff and clients that work with us. The event also gives our candidates and clients the opportunity to meet their consultants, who they have been chatting with for months, as well as meet and network with other industry professionals.

We gathered at 7 pm outside Westminster Pier where we welcomed over 300 guests, who had all dressed up for the occasion, onto the 3-story boat. While it wasn’t sunny, we didn’t have any rain, which was a huge relief given the soaring heatwave temperatures we had earlier in the week.

Cruising with a bar, bbq and belters

Our guests enjoyed a breezy cruise along the Thames as we headed towards Greenwich, with the bar on the upper deck of the boat being a big hit! Downstairs, everyone enjoyed a live singing performance and some 80s classics from the DJ.

The chefs aboard the vessel cooked up a storm for our guests, serving both traditional BBQ food and a Caribbean-inspired BBQ with plantain and rice and peas. There was also a selection of vegetarian burritos, falafel wraps and a salad bar for everyone to enjoy.

A magical evening

As requested by our candidates, our favourite Magician, Lewis was back to entertain the guests on the upper deck with his unbelievable sleight-of-hand tricks, which had our candidates in stiches.

Fun in the photobooth

The selfie mirror was also a big hit. Social Workers and Healthcare professionals lined up to have some fun photos taken at the photo booth, with an array of props and signs. They also received their prints to take home as a keepsake to remember the evening.

Partying the night away

As the evening progressed and we began to make our way back towards Westminster, we passed some fantastic London landmarks, including the O2, Cutty Sark, Canary Wharf and the Tower of London.

Our Senior Recruitment Consultant. Samantha, with her Social Work candidates.

The DJ was on hand to provide everyone with a fantastic mix of old-school RnB and Afrobeats accompanied by a crowd-pleasing performance from the Saxophonist and Percussion team, who really got the party started.

Our Managing Director Tommy gave a closing speech before the last hour of music, to say thank you to everyone for their hard work: “This is a thank you to everyone here tonight, whether it’s your first time or your second or third time. After the pandemic, you guys have worked so hard and all of you deserve massive respect for everything you do, day in and day out.”

As the night drew to an end, our social workers enjoyed one final dance, and as they left, received a Social Personnel tote bag full of goodies, including trolley keys, notepads and more.

Once again, we would love to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to the boat party. We hope you enjoyed it, and for everyone that couldn’t make it, we will see you next year.
